Safari

Now that Crystal's parents are safe and settled, we stopped by the safari today, the Bandia Wildlife Reserve.

We saw giraffes, which were really cool and really tall.

We saw osteriches, which looked like they were doing some sort of crazy dance.

We drove around in the back of Herma's truck, this is us looking for rhinos...

...which we found, and they were really huge and cool.

AND Scotty found his climbing!!

One day in the shop

We have been having a good time working on some new products.  One thing that Fiona brought when she was here was a welding helmet for the boys, they have been using $1 sunglasses.  

Djukes is the main welder, he is a great guy with a great smile, look at them pearly whites.

He and Scotty have been working on some welding projects to boost sales, we'll see if they take off.

Normally you don't want to look at the light, but since this is a picture the camera protected you from the damaging effects of the weld spot.

Guess who?

Crystal's parents are coming in 3 days, we are SO excited!!!!

Seneglese Crime Prevention

Crystal was in downtown Daker this weekend.  She was shopping and looking at a guys booth, when he violently grabbed her arm and started yelling at her in Wolof.  After her initial confusion, she noticed that the guy wasn't yelling at her but at the woman standing behind her.  The woman started yelling back, then everyone within earshot joined in on the argument.  This whole time the shopkeeper was yelling and shaking Crystal's arm.   As it turned out, the woman had slashed Crystals bag and was fishing through for whatever she could get.  Fortunately, she didn't get the camera, wallet, Ipod, or new shirts, or groceries that were in the bag.  Crystal was pretty sad about having one of her favorite bags ruined, but she was happy that the nice guy rudely stopped the would be thief.

Yesterday we celebrated a great day...the birth of not one but too extremely loud people...

...Djibi and Sandro.

It was a small gathering at Herma's place.

We ate communal couscous and lamb.

 

Sang "Happy Birthday"

Played 4 dimensional Connect Four.

And did some birthday dancing or "fetche".
