Kelley Christmas

After Christmas we stayed at a beach house with the Kelley's in Florence. The weather was actually pretty lame, but that didn't stop us.
We spent plenty of time playing with Phil's quad: Kelley boys
Mom and Phil

We also got in some much needed Dance Dance Revolution: we're pretty awesome

Chorlton Christmas

Christmas with Crystal's family was held on Christmas Eve this year and included all the traditional festivities:
Crystal's brother was able to make it home from long haul truck driving, along with his chihuahua "Chili"...
...she slept almost the whole time.
Crystal's sister was crammed into a box...I don't know why really?
And sister time, I thought we were wearing Santa hats... or wedding veils which also convey the holiday spirit?

Merry Christmas from the Kelley's

Do you have any idea how hard it is to get a good family photo with a dog?

We took a much needed vacation to Bend for a few days. Wouldn't you know it, just in the Kelley couple vacation tradition we broke down...
But, thanks to Dad we were rescued. Thanks Jessica and Kurtis for hanging out with us while we waited, you guys made the wait go fast.

We arrived at our hotel only 5 hours behind schedule and had a great time. It snowed in Bend while we were there and we got to play a bit, as well as check out the Bend REI for the very first time. I forgot to take many pictures, but here is a family picture from the trip, yes, we stayed at a "pet friendly" hotel, Joei thought it was cool.

baby chris (update)

Hopefully this will be the final update. Chris came home from the hospital today, he went in last Tuesday with a piece of roast beef lodged in his esophagus. Now he is on a liquid diet and yes, he knows to chew REALLY well. He and Scotty are getting in some much needed gaming...Chris may have gone into Halo3 withdrawal over the last week.

baby chris

Some of you know Chris, our flat mate, (roommate just sounds weird). Last night we took him to the ER because he had some roast beef lodged in his esophagus. Well in the process of getting the food out a tear developed and he has been stuck in the hospital all last night and probably tonight as well. He is doing fine but is BORED. So if you know him and want to visit he would probably appreciate the love. P.S. be sure to chew your food VERY well and swallow VERY well.

almost famous

So Scotty got a call last night from a guy who said he was with Backpacker Magazine. He apparently got our info from the blog on Pamelia Lake. He is planning on leading some trips in the NW sometimes this year and and wanted to pick Scotty's brain about Pamelia Lake. Not sure if it's legit or what, but we are almost famous. Take that!

It's National Weird Fruit Day...not really I just made that up, but have you had your fruit today?

New Addition to the Family

As some of you may know Crystal has been with out reliable (motorized) transportation since this summer. We decided since so many of our friends and family are having babies we would have one of our the 2008 Ruckus from Honda...she only has 7.8 miles on her. We are still trying to think of a good name, all suggestions will be considered.

Pamelia Lake and Grizzly Peak

We spent the weekend with friends backpacking in the Jefferson Wilderness. This was a much needed escape, Crystal has been feeling quite boring with school( know how it is eh Lewis?) Some photos for you to live vicariously through:Base camp: this is funny because it's not extreme enough to warrant a base camp
Home Sweet Home (this actually isn't our tent, but I thought it was cute with the shoes out and all...all it needs is a welcome mat)
Hiking up to Grizzly Peak: It's about a 2 thousand foot elevation gain in about 3 miles
Almost to the top of Grizzly Peak, Mt Jefferson in the background (and no Winky we didn't see any grizzly bears).View from the top of Grizzly Peak, Jake this shot is for you (little mountain, big mountain...get it?).Mt. Jefferson from Grizzly Peak, the lake at the bottom of the photo is Pamelia Lake--that's where we were camped the night before.Cool water falls on the way back down.Creepy dried up river bed, I kind of felt like I was in Lord of the Rings, or the Narnicles. (wink)
Sleeping in (you can't tell from this picture but we are spooning three deep--that's Joei's head in front). It's not all fun and games, here we are pumping our water so we don't get sick--it's actually not that much work.Parting shot to give you a feel for the awesome view, sorry it's never as good as real life. This is Joei after we got home...she is TIRED!
