almost famous

So Scotty got a call last night from a guy who said he was with Backpacker Magazine. He apparently got our info from the blog on Pamelia Lake. He is planning on leading some trips in the NW sometimes this year and and wanted to pick Scotty's brain about Pamelia Lake. Not sure if it's legit or what, but we are almost famous. Take that!

poma-what?

It's National Weird Fruit Day...not really I just made that up, but have you had your fruit today?

New Addition to the Family

As some of you may know Crystal has been with out reliable (motorized) transportation since this summer. We decided since so many of our friends and family are having babies we would have one of our own...meet the 2008 Ruckus from Honda...she only has 7.8 miles on her. We are still trying to think of a good name, all suggestions will be considered.

Pamelia Lake and Grizzly Peak

We spent the weekend with friends backpacking in the Jefferson Wilderness. This was a much needed escape, Crystal has been feeling quite boring with school(...you know how it is eh Lewis?) Some photos for you to live vicariously through:Base camp: this is funny because it's not extreme enough to warrant a base camp
Home Sweet Home (this actually isn't our tent, but I thought it was cute with the shoes out and all...all it needs is a welcome mat)
Hiking up to Grizzly Peak: It's about a 2 thousand foot elevation gain in about 3 miles
Almost to the top of Grizzly Peak, Mt Jefferson in the background (and no Winky we didn't see any grizzly bears).View from the top of Grizzly Peak, Jake this shot is for you (little mountain, big mountain...get it?).Mt. Jefferson from Grizzly Peak, the lake at the bottom of the photo is Pamelia Lake--that's where we were camped the night before.Cool water falls on the way back down.Creepy dried up river bed, I kind of felt like I was in Lord of the Rings, or the Narnicles. (wink)
Sleeping in (you can't tell from this picture but we are spooning three deep--that's Joei's head in front). It's not all fun and games, here we are pumping our water so we don't get sick--it's actually not that much work.Parting shot to give you a feel for the awesome view, sorry it's never as good as real life. This is Joei after we got home...she is TIRED!
