weird family
We have been blessed with a wonderful family that actually likes hanging out together. We spend the last weekend of August all together at the Oregon coast.
Sisters...the Kelley girls. The maiden voyage of the Kelley boy's boat didn't go too well; Scotty is holding the boat where it drifted into the rocks.
Let the Kelley Sand games begin, officiated by Grandpa.Karen and her sad face.
Cute couples on the beach...

pamelia lake
We went backpacking at Pamelia Lake with some of our friends from Dox.
Just walking.Three men, one map...wait isn't that a trail sign? Hmmm.
A different view of Mount Jefferson.Jenn is ACTUALLY shooting Peter with a bow and arrow in this picture.
Here duckies...Jenn wants to say hi.
See, girls CAN look good in the outdoors.
Boys like fire.

Mary's Peak
Kaitlynn decided it would be cool to hike up to the top of Mary's Peak. Crystal was an innocent bystander that got tricked into going along. ..okay that's not true, she was a willing participant. It took us about 3 hours to get to the top of this 4,097 foot beauty, but the view and the sense of accomplishment was worth every minute.
Joei didn't think so though.Aw, girl bonding time.

day of independence, happy
Ah... observed holidays! We took advantage of the days off and headed towards the hills...Jefferson Wilderness to be specific. This was our first backpacking of the season.
Scotty reading up on survival skills.
Joei had a hard day of hiking.
We camped near this meadow the second night. It is always a weird feeling to walk from a dense forrest of Douglas Firs and Pines into a wide open meadow.
We built this shelter to practice, maybe next time we will spend the night in it.
Scotty is good at outdoor stuff.
Crystal likes taking pictures of stuff.
